WE WORK ON 3 LEVELS TO ACHIEVE A LONG-TERM CHANGE Empowering your mind At this stage, psychological and social work sessions are offered, both individually and as a group for a period of 6 months. Empowering your life During 8 weeks we work on aspects such as: - Sex education - Interpersonal skills - Building confidence and self-knowledge - Human Right Empowering your future The final stage consists in developing the labor skills of the participants during 2 months, 4 hours a week divided between theory and practice in an equitable way. WE HAVE HELPED MORE THAN 1000 WOMEN IN THE LAST 8 YEARS Árbol De Esperanza uses the programs created by Ready To Empower in an effort to restore hope and self-sufficiency of women at social risk. Phase 1: Empowering your mind Individual therapy and group therapy Objectives and Outcomes: Participants will receive an individualized process addressing their specific needs and desires. Time frame: February to March, 2 months Individual Therapy: 8 sessions One individual session per week for 8 weeks. Group Therapy: 8 sessions Once a week for 8 weeks Group topics include, but are not limited to: Self-esteem and self-love Depression Anger management Domestic violence Anxiety Coping Skills (Leadership, assertive communication, CAR, Teamwork) Emotion Management Phase 2: Empowering your life Life skills and Human Rights Objectives and Results: Increase participants' critical thinking, improve their independence and healthy way of communication. Timeframe: April to May, 2 months Topics to be addressed: Building Confidence and Self-Awareness. Violence prevention Knowledge of human rights Sexual education Communication skills Phase 3: Empowering your future Life skills and human rights Objectives and Outcomes: To promote the development of key professional skills by creating learning opportunities and work experiences for professional development and employment opportunities. Timeframe: June to July. 10 weeks, once a week with sessions of 2 practical hours and 2 face-to-face hours. 2019 Click on the images to read the full news! 11/29/19 Last Friday we had the pleasure of celebrating with several women participating in their graduation from the Tree of Hope Empowerment Program. It has been an honor to learn from each one and see the process they have gone through, full of challenges, but extremely committed to themselves. Many congratulations to each one. 10/19/19 Encapsulated nail class. 08/10/19 Yesterday we had Styling class. Here some photographs of the participants with their models. Styling participants will be certified by ADEMM, their certification is valid nationally and internationally. At Tree of Hope we believe that educational and training processes must be accessible to the community, consider all the possibilities within the diversity that unites us, must always encourage the autonomy and development of each one. We know that behind each course there are many dreams, and that is why we try to ensure that enjoyment is always present. We urge you to collaborate with Tree of Hope and make it possible for many dreams to materialize! You can make the difference! You can be godmother and / or godfather of those dreams! 02/10/19 Every Wednesday night we learn English! Today we play! Learning a new language provides tools for personal development and also to stimulate different brain functions that come into play when learning, speaking and listening! But above all, when the learning process brings enjoyment and laughter. 09/16/19 We start our cooking classes for soda / window with our teacher Paola Vega Vargas. By participating in our courses you contribute to reviving the local economy. Our training model is based on taking advantage of internal resources, empowering them and dignifying the work and economic contribution that women carry out in different areas. It was great to share work experiences and create alliances with you. Many successes in your projects. 08/15/19 Today we celebrated Mother's Day at Tree of Hope, we had the joy of sharing, dancing and enjoying music thanks to the singer Alejandra Pérez, who accompanied us in the celebration. 08/13/19 Last Friday we had a very different graduation from our Second Phase of the Tree of Hope Program. We had a ride to Las Musas. Women are socially limited to the private sphere, their recreational possibilities are restricted, to enjoy themselves; and many times these spaces are not seen as a priority by ourselves, because socially that is how we have been taught. At Tree of Hope we wanted to break with what is traditionally understood as Graduation and we all decided to create more shared experiences of enjoyment and enjoyment, exercising decision-making power over how and in what way we want to build our daily lives, from self-care... Because each little part of our lives matters. We also thank Tanya from INLEXCA who supported us with transportation and Nele and Manuel who collaborated with us with great dedication in Tree of Hope. It is each and every one of the people who make us up who move and give energy to the organization. 08/08/19 Today we had the Self Defense class for the fellow participants, as part of the conclusion incentives of the Second Stage of our Program. Welcome companions! 05/28/19 Today we had the opportunity to receive a Risk Management workshop from the psychology course of Labor Processes at the University of Costa Rica. Many thanks to the students Ingrid and Pamela for sharing all their knowledge with us. Also Luisana, Emma and Emma from Lincoln School visited us, they donated many things for the association and for the store. Ana Maria Cruz Acevedo Education: Ana Maria has a degree in Social Work from the University of Costa Rica and is studying Psychology. Functions: She has been the social worker at Árbol de Esperanza since 2018. She is in charge of the coordination, preparation, follow-up and development of socio-educational groups. Among some of her functions are providing individual attention and follow-up, making social reports, inter-institutional referrals or socioeconomic studies, executing and designing gender awareness workshops, as well as coordinating internships and volunteering of Social Work students. She is our representative to the Network Against Violence in the West. Experience: She has some experience in the area of research, socio-educational processes, sports, development of social skills, with different age populations specifically with minors, young people, women and older adults and interdisciplinary teams, preparation of social reports, surveys and socio-economic studies, as well as projects in her field. She is part of the Recrearte organization. Ana Maria has been providing her professional services to the Árbol de Esperanza Association since 2018. She is in charge of individual counseling in Social work, as well as Phase 2 facilitation. Fields of interest: Gender, Sexual diversity, reproductive health, violence and life skills. Hobbies: Hiking in the mountains, looking for amphibians and waterfalls. She is passionate about reading and writes poetry. She likes to travel and see new places, frogs, music and dance. Who are we? We are a non-profit organization created in 2013 in collaboration with the American Foundation Ready to Empower, an organization based in the United States. Our work is to reinforce the individual and collective abilities of women, through a comprehensive program that allows them to move towards their mental health and economic autonomy. Our service model offers a comprehensive program where participants receive therapy, individual attention and group workshops to strengthen mental health, in addition to job training and job opportunities for employability. Mission Árbol de Esperanza is a non-profit organization that provides a safe and supportive space for women from the Western region, focusing on actions such as empowerment and reinforcement of their abilities, with a view to achieving their autonomy and that of the organization. Vision To be a consolidated feminist organization in the West that builds alliances with similar groups to strengthen its growth, thus promoting the empowerment of women in the region. Values Responsibility: our actions are aimed at fulfilling the objectives of the organization. Sorority: we aim to foster alliances and partnerships between women, from both the work team and the beneficiaries, to strengthen the growth of each one despite living in a limited patriarchal environment. Respect: we guarantee spaces free from violence and discrimination due to ideologies, creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, socioeconomic situation and any other manifestation of discrimination.
